Seeking participants: Taking food supplement (probiotics)

The School of Psychological Sciences is inviting individuals to participate in a study exploring the relationship between taking probiotics and health.

This is a 12-week study that involves four on-campus assessments and two 28-day durations of food supplement intake. Participants will enter multiple draws to win a $50 eGift Card for participation.

Participants will be asked to complete an on-campus baseline assessment (90 minutes) and a 28-day duration of food supplement intake (at home).

On day 28, you will be asked to complete another on-campus assessment (75 minutes) and another 28-day duration of food supplement intake (at home). On day 56 and day 84, you will be asked to complete the third and fourth on-campus assessments (75 minutes).

Each session of assessment includes measuring your height, weight, and body composition, completing four computer-based tasks for assessing cognitive functions, and an online self-report questionnaire. Please note: The questionnaire will ask questions concerning depression and anxiety.

To be eligible for the 12-week study, you need to be:

  • aged 18 or over
  • proficient in English
  • in good health
  • available for on-campus assessment sessions in a laboratory at Macquarie University.
