Recruiting participants – Get a free DEXA scan and try out a state-of-the-art 3D body scanner

The Biomechanics, Physical Performance, and Exercise (BioPPEx) Research Group is seeking volunteers willing to have their body composition assessed using DEXA and a 3D body scanner. Participants will be provided with a report of their DEXA and 3D body scan results.

You will be asked to attend two sessions, preferably on the same day:

1. Session One (~60min) will take place at 75 Talavera Rd. where you will have the circumferences and lengths of your arms, legs, and torso measured by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. You will also have your body scanned by a 3D body scanner to take further anthropometric measurements.

2. Session Two (<30min) will be at Macquarie Medical Imaging (MMI) in Macquarie Centre where you will have a DEXA scan by MMI’s trained technicians. The data from these assessments will be used to validate the use of our state-of-the-art 3D body scanner for assessing body composition and anthropometrics.

Please contact Dr Jordan Andersen and Dr Rhiannon Campbell sportscience.research@mq.edu.au if you’re interested.
