The new-look Policy Central turns ONE!

The new-look Policy Central was launched on 22 February 2021 and there are some very impressive stats associated with the new system.

It has been one year since the launch of the University’s new-look Policy Central on 22 February 2021.

Feedback on the new system has been overwhelmingly positive, in particular the features allowing easy access to historic and future versions of policy documents and the automated reminders to the Responsible Officer when policy documents are due for review.

The Bulletin Board feature has been particularly well received, notably for the opportunity it provides staff and students to submit feedback on draft documents. In the last three months, there have been more than 1000 views of policy drafts on the Bulletin Board, and approximately 50 individual feedback submissions have been made.

Policy development and review has also been facilitated by the new system, with colleagues across the University working with Governance Services in the last year to:

  • substantially amend, fully review, or newly create over 100 policy documents
  • provide consultation opportunities through the Bulletin Board on over 75 policy documents
  • expire over 35 redundant or superseded policy documents

Users have also been busy in Policy Central, with the most-viewed policy in the last year receiving more than 40,000 hits!  It was the Student Code of Conduct, which happens to be under review right now – so look out for the opportunity to provide your feedback on the new draft through the Bulletin Board in the coming months.
