adiya_web

Originally hailing from Mumbai, Aditya Sawant arrived in Sydney in 2016 to undertake a Master of Management degree at Macquarie. Like so many of our students, he fell in love with being part of the Macquarie community and has stayed on to give back to the University as an employee.

He is currently a Student Engagement Coordinator in the Macquarie University International College, where he helps other students get as much from Macquarie student life as he did.

“What do you teach?” – that was is a very common question I got in my initial days working at a university.

3. Something you’d like staff to know about
I’d encourage everyone to check out wellbeing facilities and activities available to our staff members. It’s so important to stay fit, not only physically, but also mentally.

The motivation and energy I always get from my team. But, most important – I always need coffee to do my best work.

I believe success and goals change with circumstances, so we all are achievers at our right time.

6. What you like about where you live
I’ve been living around the University since I arrived in Australia five years ago. I love going to Macquarie Centre and jogging around the campus – it’s been such a pleasure watching the University grow and change all these years.

7. I’m happiest when…
I’m trekking in the mountains with nature, enjoying what it gives us and thinking how we can save it!

8. A website or app you can’t live without
I can’t live without music – be it on Youtube or Spotify. It’s  something which helps me in all aspects of life.

9. Something you’re trying to do differently in 2021
Living a healthy lifestyle and doing my part to protect the environment.

10. A personal quality you value in others
I seek humility from people around me. It’s a bit of an expensive ask these days.
