Community consultation kicks off for Ryde Hospital

Northern Sydney Local Health District has commenced community consultation on the redevelopment of Ryde Hospital.

Late last year, Vice-Chancellor Professor S. Bruce Dowton and Executive Dean of the Facility of Medicine, Health and Human Science, Professor Patrick McNeil hosted New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard MP and Minister Victor Dominello at our Clinical Education building to make the case for relocating Ryde Hospital from its current site in Denistone to Macquarie University campus (see This Week, 15 December 2020)

The public consultation is an important first step in the development of a Clinical Services Plan with several opportunities for the community and stakeholders to voice their opinions over the forthcoming months.

Staff members who would like to have their say can do so by completing the Ryde Hospital Redevelopment Community Survey. You learn more about the consultation program here.

The University is advocating for the redevelopment of the hospital at our campus. Benefits of relocation for Macquarie include access for hospital staff to the University’s education and professional development offerings, new and close-by teaching opportunities for the hospital’s medical and health professionals and students as well as stronger links between the hospital and University in educational programmes.
