Call for volunteers for a community physio and medical program

The Health and Wellbeing Collaboration (HAWC) Program is a clinical placement program connecting students in the Department of Health Professions with volunteers from the community. These volunteers need to have current or previous medical conditions that they can discuss with the students.

Volunteers allow medical and physiotherapy students to contact them for a teleconference meeting periodically to practice skills such as consultation, observation and analysis of movement, basic assessment skills, measurement of activity levels and response to exercise.

The program is currently seeking adult volunteers for its August to November session. Students will contact volunteers approximately four times over the session.

Read Frequently Asked Questions about the program or express your interest in taking part as a volunteer.
