How some staff are ‘Making their Mark’ on Macquarie

Many Academics wish to make a difference, doing work they feel passionate about.

In 2019, the Make your Mark on Macquarie program empowered six University staff members to implement one idea that would have a positive change on Macquarie’s community.

Participants underwent an expression of interest process for the opportunity to develop their ideas, gained the leadership skills to implement the idea, and received mentoring by the University’s senior leaders along the way.

2019 participants included Florence Chiew, Helena Hurley, Pavlina Naydenova, Rimante Ronto, Prasanth Subramani and Anu Vijayan. Their stories, from idea to their first steps to achieving their goals, are captured in the videos below:

Make your Mark on Macquarie is a nine-month-long leadership program which began in 2018. It is designed and led by Mariella Herberstein, Chair, Academic Senate, and Mauricio Marrone, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance.
