Double pass ticket giveaway!

We have 15 double passes (valued at $120) up for grabs to the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ upcoming double lecture on John Russell and Vincent van Gogh, including entry to the John Russell exhibition.

During the double lecture, The ties that bind, Nienke Bakker, curator of paintings at Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum and Wayne Tunnicliffe, the Gallery’s head of Australian art, will explore the artistic affinities of the two artists who became close friends in France in the late 19th century.

Hailing from Darlinghurst, Russell left Sydney to study art in London and Paris, where he was painted alongside contemporaries such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Vincent van Gough.

The double lecture will be held at 2pm, Saturday 21 July. Tickets will be allocated on a first-in basis, so if you would like to attend the lecture and exhibition, email Susan Clarke at susan.clarke@mq.edu.au.
