The speed humps along University Avenue will be removed in July so please expect minor road condition changes while the works are happening.
Traffic controllers will be in place and access to South 2 carpark, Eastern Road, 1 University Avenue (Cochlear Building) and 16 University Avenue (Australian Hearing Hub) will be maintained.
· Saturday 21 July (7:00am to 3:00pm)
Can you provide more detail as to why the speed humps are being removed – is it permanent, temporary? Widening the road to increase flow so we can get on and off campus more efficiently – because its pretty bad as it is currently? Or is this preparation for the station shut down?
Hi Sarah, thanks for your enquiry. These speed humps are being removed because they are showing signs of wear and tear. You are correct in assuming the removal will aid traffic flow on University Avenue after the station upgrade starts on 30 September when extra Transport for NSW buses (see Station Link: http://www.mysydney.nsw.gov.au/node/3856) will be coming through the uni.
