Macquarie has been awarded more than $2.7 million in funding, in the announcement of the latest round of grants from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
The three Project Grants were awarded to researchers from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The projects cover the areas of the appropriateness of medical treatment of the aged, protecting the retina, and the treatment of Machado Joseph disease.
The successful project details are:
- Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite – CareTrack Aged: appropriate care delivered to Australians living in residential aged care
- Professor Stuart Graham – Targeting neuroserpin-plasmin interactions to protect the retina in glaucoma
- Dr Angela Laird – Calpeptin, and related candidates, for the treatment of Machado Joseph disease
