Get ready for the new Ubar!

Ubar is moving – so it’s time to get excited for Ubar 2.0!

ubarIf you’ve walked through central campus lately, you have no doubt noticed the Campus Common located in front of the library taking shape. The exciting new food, beverage, and social precinct is scheduled to open in the coming months and will offer you a unique place to socialise on campus. One of your favourite spots to hang – Ubar – will have a prime location in the new space.

We know you have lots of questions regarding this space, so here is some more detail and a new pic to get you pumped for the new space.

What food and drink options will be available?
The new Ubar will feature a massive indoor/outdoor licensed space, including access to all-new food retailers that we’re looking forward to sharing soon. It will have a new wood-fire pizza oven and a brand-new menu for you to enjoy, plus boutique craft beer and ciders on tap, a selection of wine and spirits, and non-alcoholic options.

Does the new space have indoor or outdoor seating?
It has both!

What about other Ubar activities?
Your favourites, including Happy Hour, Trivia, Bingo, themed parties and live entertainment will continue to operate in the new space. And we’re bringing the pool tables over too.

Will Ubar be part of the new building that will go where the current Campus Hub is located?
Yep! Ubar will be one of the food and beverage offerings in the innovative new teaching and learning building – to be called 1 Central Courtyard – that will sit where the current Campus Hub is located. We’ll share more information as the project progresses.

Remember, you can continue enjoying the current Ubar until the new Campus Common opens later this year. See you there!
