An expanded business unit portfolio has recently been created with the unveiling of the University Library, Archives & Collections group under University Librarian, JoAnne Sparks.

This new portfolio sees the Macquarie University Art Gallery and Archives and Records Management (previously known as Macquarie Memory) now reporting to the University Librarian.

“I’m excited to welcome these teams into the new, expanded portfolio,” said JoAnne. “An important benefit will be the aligning of the University’s archives and collections alongside the scholarly information functions that the Library currently undertakes. This was seen as a key positive outcome among staff and key stakeholders involved in the consultation process.”

The change will also see a coordination relationship established between the University Librarian and University collections located within the Faculties and other central portfolios (galleries, museum and other collections). Staff in those areas will continue to report to their current line managers.

Who’s involved?

Macquarie University Art Gallery is located in E11A with Rhonda Davis, Senior Curator and Leonard Janiszewski, Curator.

Archives and Records Management (formerly Macquarie Memory) has two arms, the Digital Information team including managing and developing Truth and other applications is led by Alex Zionzee, Digital Information Manager.

The other arm is led by Lachlan Morgan, Records & Archives Manager, and his team is responsible for TRIM (records management system), student records, vital records, corporate records and historical archives containing documents and other materials.
