Celebrate and unwind at RE:Conception

Thanks to the Student Representative Committee, a brand new festival is making its way to Macquarie this year, and it’s called RE:Conception.

Split over 15 and 16 September, RE:Conception has been designed to celebrate the place we all know and love in our very own backyard.

Thursday night’s party in the Atrium will be headlined by Timmy Trumpet with support acts, food trucks and pop-up bars. Tickets available now through Moshtix.

Friday’s lakeside event is all-ages, free and open for everyone, so get your colleagues, family and friends together for a great afternoon and evening. The day will feature San Cisco, support acts, as well as a line-up of live acoustic acts, food trucks, boutique bars and more. The event will culminate with a huge fireworks finale by the lake, a first in Macquarie’s history.

No classes on either day will be disrupted by the events, with Thursday night commencing at 8pm, and Friday afternoon commencing at 3pm.

As with all events on campus, it is important to remember that Macquarie is an inclusive, fun and safe place for all – we look out for each other, respect one another, and celebrate together as one community. Here’s a refresher on the Staff Code of Conduct.

Hope to see you this September!

  1. Wow. Fireworks at Macquarie Uni. What a waste of money and a terrible way to disturb your neighbours. I’ll be complaining LOUDLY to council about this. Why don’t you explore the possibility of a laser light show for next year??
