Calling all researchers – do you want to engage with media?

The University’s communications team assists academics and other staff members with media engagement and can advise on the right media approaches for research, academic papers and general media commentary.

We are currently calling for academics who have a forthcoming research paper that could have potential to appeal to a mainstream audience. With an extensive network of trusted media contacts, we can assist in starting the conversation with media to further promote your research.

Some questions to ask:

  • Are you the lead author of the paper?
  • Would you like to explore media opportunities for your research?
  • Has the paper been accepted but not yet been published online? We respect all journal embargoes but will prepare material in anticipation of the publication date.

While not every research paper will necessarily appeal to media or a wider audience, we are happy to talk through any potential opportunities.

Not sure if your research has media appeal? Call the communications team on 9850 6766 or email communications@mq.edu.au to discuss.

If you have an existing relationship with a member of the communications team, please get in contact with them directly, or, fill in our story brief form and we’ll be in touch.
