Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer Tim Beresford welcomes Robin Payne as the new Chief Financial Officer.

It is with pleasure that I announce that Robin Payne will join Macquarie University as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on 5 December.

Robin has more than 30 years’ experience in finance and has acted on the advisory side with KPMG and Macquarie Bank, and as principal with Anytime and NBN Co. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and in England and Wales.

Most recently, as CFO and Chief Risk Officer of NBN Co, Robin was responsible for all finance-related aspects of the rollout of the Commonwealth Government’s $50 billion National Broadband Network, and for the development and implementation of NBN Co’s Enterprise Risk Management strategy.

Robin’s experience in Audit and Advisory and Investment Banking have given him a keen understanding of financial markets, governance and reporting. He thrives in developing businesses, building strong service oriented teams that work together to achieve clear goals in challenging and rapidly changing environments.

As CFO, Robin will join the University’s Executive Group, and the Vice-Chancellor and I are confident that he will make a strong contribution to the leadership of the University.

I am confident he will be a great addition to the DVC and COO Leadership team, and I look forward to introducing him around the University later this year.
