Sydney’s Establishment Bar might seem a world away from Ulaanbaatar, but for Macquarie’s newest alumni network group, it was the perfect place to connect and share their experiences of the University.

The Macquarie Mongolian Alumni Meet-up event on 7 June brought together more than 60 graduates and current students from Mongolia in a highly anticipated gathering. The event provided a valuable opportunity for alumni to strengthen their connections, foster a sense of camaraderie, rekindle old friendships and forge new professional networks.

The University’s Mongolian alumni have grown in number over the years, with Macquarie Business School’s postgraduate degrees particularly popular among Mongolian students. The co-leaders of the Mongolian network, Sean Tsedenbaljir and Sophie Bayar, are both graduates of the Master of Banking and Finance.

Sean says being part of the group’s first formal event was a great milestone and helped strengthen the bond among Macquarie’s Mongolian alumni.

“None of it would have been possible without Macquarie’s amazing Alumni Relations team, who worked tirelessly to make this event happen,” Sean says.

The positive feedback received from alumni on social media further underscored the impact of the event, with attendees sharing their experiences and expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect.
