It’s Privacy Awareness Week: Make privacy a priority

This week, 3 – 9 May, is Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) in NSW.

PAW aims to improve understanding and awareness of NSW privacy legislation, raise awareness of a person’s privacy rights and the obligations of those who collect personal information.

This year’s theme is Make Privacy a Priority.

NSW privacy legislation requires that the University protects personal and health information and provides the framework for resolving complaints about the handling of personal and health information. Read more about the University’s privacy framework.

How we collect and what we do with people’s personal information is critical to building the trust of citizens in NSW, including our staff and students.

Visit the PAW 2021 website to learn more about how you can ensure the right processes are followed and correct procedures are in place for managing personal information.

If you have any privacy related questions or would like to arrange some privacy training for your team, please contact Elise McHugh, Compliance and Privacy Manager at privacyofficer@mq.edu.au.
