Following their approval by University staff in September, both the Macquarie University Professional Staff Enterprise Agreement 2023 (Professional Staff Agreement) and the Macquarie University Academic Staff Enterprise Agreement 2023 (Academic Staff Agreement) were subsequently lodged with the Fair Work Commission for approval.

The Fair Work Commission approved the Professional Staff Agreement and the Academic Staff Agreement on 11 October 2023 and 17 October 2023 respectively.

Enterprise agreements come into operation seven calendar days after Fair Work Commission approval. Accordingly, the Professional Staff Agreement came into effect on 18 October 2023 and the Academic Staff Agreement on 24 October 2023.
