Seeking volunteers of all ages for the HAWC program

The Health and Wellbeing Collaboration (HAWC) program integrates academic learning into practice and provides Macquarie University medical students with the real-world experience they need to deliver person-centred care in the future.

The volunteer program runs twice a year between March-June and August-November. As a volunteer, you will be assigned a pair of students who will conduct three individual interviews about your health, lifestyle, medical history and any health issues you may experience and wish to share. At a time and place convenient to you, students will practice their interviewing and observation skills.

By learning about your health journey, students will gain a deeper insight into the experience of individuals accessing healthcare and any barriers you may have faced.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteers of all ages, with different health experiences, can volunteer for the HAWC program.

Interested?

The application deadline for Session 2, 2023 is Friday 14 July. Please feel free to share this with friends, colleagues, and family external to Macquarie University.
