Seeking children 8-11 and adults under 35 for study on language processing

Researchers at the School of Psychological Sciences are seeking children and adults for a study on how our brains process language during audiovisual tasks, with a $50 eGift card for each participant.

To be eligible for participation, children must:

  • be aged between 8 and 11 years;
  • be attending school in Australia.

Adults must be:

  • not older than 35 years;
  • schooled in Australia.

Participation in this study will require one testing session at the Macquarie University Australian Hearing Hub, approximately 2.5 hours long. Participants will be asked to watch short videos and listen to spoken words while wearing a cap with sensors to record brain activity.

This technology is safe and totally painless, and it is commonly used also in studies with infants and toddlers.

Each participant will be compensated with a $50 open gift card.
