Development and Performance Reviews now available to complete in Workday

Development and Performance Reviews are now available to complete in Workday, replacing the current PageUp (Talent) PDR system and paper-based PDRs.

For Academic and Professional employees, Development and Performance Reviews (DPR) are typically completed between November and March of the following year, but you should work with your manager to determine the best timing to complete your 2022 DPR. The DPR will remain open as a task in your Workday Inbox until you submit this to your manager for review.

As part of the transition to the new DPR process, you should:

  • Meet with your Manager, Dean, HoD, or DPR Supervisor to discuss your DPR goals for 2022 and reflect on your achievements for 2021.
  • If you created a PDR in PageUp for 2021, we recommend that you complete this and export a PDF copy for upload into Workday.
  • Complete the DPR Self-Evaluation task in Workday:
  • Go to your Workday Inbox when you’re ready to get started.
  • Complete the questions with a focus on outlining your objectives for 2022. If desired, you can also reflect on your achievements for 2021 (this is optional).
  • Attach the PDF copy of your 2021 PDR from PageUp (if available).
  • Submit the DPR to your Manager, Dean, HoD or DPR Supervisor for review. They will then complete their manager evaluation to finalise the process.

In addition to the new DPR process, the following features are now available in Workday:

  • Leaders and managers can now cascade goals to staff. This eliminates the need to develop custom DPR templates for different parts of the organisation as priorities change over time.
  • Staff can complete the ‘Talent Profile’. The Talent Profile is essentially an online resume – listing your skills, education, and career experience – similar to an internal ‘LinkedIn’ profile. This is optional to complete.
  • Information shared via your Talent Profile is visible to other employees (except for Registration or Certification information) and searchable via the Find Workers
  • You’ll also see a new Talent and Performance icon on your Workday homepage. This enables you to update your skills and experience, add your career interests, manage your job alerts, and maintain your goals throughout the year.
