Wear It Purple Day, virtual-style

Wear It Purple Day is on this Friday 27 August and you can support it from home with these great initiatives from Campus Life.

Dance to donate

The Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre will host a special themed dance class with Anna Biddiscombe at 7pm Thursday 26 August.

MUSAC will donate $0.50 for every live view on the evening to the Pinnacle Foundation, an organisation providing educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ Australians to realise their full potential and overcome challenges arising from their identity.

The best purple costumes or outfits will be rewarded with special prizes, including Crunch Café vouchers and Group Fitness Class passes, for use when we’re safely back on campus.

Attendees should share their entries in the comments section of the live class video. Submissions  will remain open on the video post for 24-hours. Winners will be determined by the audience – whoever receives the most likes in the comments will win!

The live online class will be streamed via the MUSAC Facebook page.

Zoom it purple

Get behind Wear It Purple and organise a themed virtual morning tea or team event on Friday 27 August. For every event photo received,  Campus Life will donate $50 to the Pinnacle Foundation.  Email your photos to Sophie Curtis: Sophie.curtis@mq.edu.au.

Printables and Zoom backgrounds are available on the Wear It Purple website.

Campus Life will be also distributing Wear It Purple cupcakes on Friday to those who remain on campus, including students in accommodation and staff in the campus’ Early Learning Centres. Thanks Campus Life!
