Introducing The Macquarie Feed

The volume of information we receive today is overwhelming for many. We have multiple inboxes, multiple social media accounts and multiple websites we visit to get the information we want or need. It’s a lot.

So Macquarie is taking a simplified approach to communicating with our students.

We’re focusing our efforts on four main channels: the student website, our social media channels, One Vision screens and a newly revamped, student-focused newsletter. Full utilisation of these channels will make it easier for students to engage with our information and reduce the number of emails we send them.

Last year, the web team, the Academic Registrar’s unit and a cohort of current students co-designed new student webpages. Their aim was to make it easier for students to find what they need, particularly when they don’t know they need it. In a continuation of this approach, last week we launched our redesigned and re-vamped current student newsletter – The Macquarie Feed.

Professor Mariella Herberstein, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic says, “The Macquarie Feed is sent to students’ MQ email inbox every Monday. It contains a combination of information students need to know, events, student-generated content on things they’re interested in and the occasional peek into the lives of our Macquarie University community members.”

Staff wanting to subscribe to The Macquarie Feed to stay up-to-date with our student communications can subscribe.

Please note: if you subscribed to the previous student newsletter, you don’t need to subscribe again.
