14 Macquarie University research projects have been successful in securing over $5 million in funding in the 2021 Discovery Projects scheme, while two further projects have secured Linkage Projects scheme funding, announced by the Australian Research Council on Friday 13 November.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Sakkie Pretorius says the range and quality of the projects is testament to the breadth of Macquarie’s research excellence.

“Discovery funding helps us in our ongoing mission to generate new knowledge and understanding that delivers real impact, both in Australia and globally,” he says. “I congratulate all the recipients on their success, which is the result of so much hard work and dedication.

“I’m also excited to see the outcomes of our Linkage projects, which are born from the deep relationships Macquarie has with industry, government and community organisations who share our ambition in delivering better outcomes for communities.”
