Staff Wellbeing Month is back… but this time it’s different!

It’s one of the highlights of the working year at Macquarie – when we take some time out to prioritise our personal health and wellbeing, joining with colleagues across the whole campus for the University’s annual Staff Wellbeing Month.

In a year where COVID-19 has forced us to change our ways of working and living, the 2020 Wellbeing Month will embrace a blended format of on-campus and online seminars, events and activities – making this year’s Wellbeing Month our most accessible one yet – and one where we can listen and learn from our Macquarie colleagues.

You’ll be able to join online lunchtime webinars at home or at your desk via Zoom or watch the recordings later on demand. You’ll be able to join yogalates sessions and group staff fitness classes in person or follow them live online and workout from home. And there’ll still be a wide range of events to attend face to face on campus, with physical distancing rules in place.

“Spending months under lockdown earlier in the year meant many of us had fewer opportunities for social interaction and were deprived of our favourite ways to exercise, so Wellbeing Month is an opportune time for us all to take stock of our wellbeing and reflect on how it’s been impacted by COVID-19,” says Nick Crowley, Director, Human Resources.

“With an even greater emphasis on accessibility this year, I hope all our staff will take some time to join in at least one of the seminars, events and activities Wellbeing Month has to offer, and spend some time focusing on their own personal health and wellbeing.”

We’ve listed some of Wellbeing Month’s highlights below – the full schedule can be found on the Staff Wellbeing Month website. With popular events always booking out quickly, make sure you register early.
