Faculty name change

The University Council has approved a name change of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) effective immediately.

“This is an important milestone, reflecting our commitment to create a single, new faculty that is inclusive of all of the academic streams within,” Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Medicine and Health and Executive Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, Patrick McNeil said.

Working with Group Marketing, FMHHS will revise the faculty website, signage and other printed and electronic marketing materials to reflect not only the new name but also to ensure the narrative is inclusive of the incoming departments and new, expanded faculty.

“I look forward to continuing our work together which has recently started in realising the potential that presents itself through this integration to build a very strong multi-disciplinary research mission and to strengthen the course offerings across our new faculty.”
