The Vice-President, University Services and Strategy, Saveria Dimasi, is pleased to welcome Tim Hume as the University’s interim Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Tim comes to Macquarie with extensive experience in public sector and Health ICT, as well as a strong background in leading and advising on large scale transformation programs of work.
Tim’s most recent experience in the public sector was as CIO at the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. He was also the inaugural Chair of the NSW Public Sector Community of ICT Professionals, a group looking at ways of improving the sharing of ideas and communication amongst ICT staff throughout the sector, which had over 1000 members across all areas of the NSW public service.
University Services and Strategy bids farewell to outgoing Chief Information Officer, Dave Reeve, who has accepted a senior leadership position in the private sector. He took on the role of CIO at Macquarie in 2017, initially in an acting capacity, before being formally appointed to the role.
“Dave led the IT team during a very busy time and led the way for some transformational IT projects across the University,” says Saveria. “These included the successful implementation of the Research system, the upgrading of the Student and Finance systems and planning for a new HR system.”
