Macquarie University launches World-leading research, World-changing impact

Macquarie has launched a new book, focused on the Univerity’s research impact, which the Vice-Chancellor, Professor S Bruce Dowton says will, “help us tell the Macquarie story to a wider audience.”

dvcr4153_era-brochure_digital_reduced_page_01World-leading research, World-changing impact is an edited version of the information submitted for the 2018 ERA and the 2018 Engagement and Impact assessment (EI). It is a snapshot in time, capturing the research excellence, research engagement and research impact of Macquarie University.

Speaking at the book launch a few weeks ago, Professor Sakkie Pretorius, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research said, “we are a university of service and engagement, and as researchers, we seek to change the world through our discoveries. I hope that by reflecting on what we’ve achieved, we can look forward to the discoveries of tomorrow.”

The book launch was paired with a refresh of Macquarie’s ERA webpages to reflect our 2018 ERA and EI achievements. Both the book and the website feature stories on the world-changing impact being conducted across every discipline at Macquarie and illustrate how the university translates research into real-world applications through our collaborations with industry, government and the community.
