Simulated Patient Program

To support their growing Medical Education program, MQ Health are seeking volunteers to help with their Simulated Patient Program.

They are seeking three types of volunteers at various times throughout the year. Participating staff can claim staff volunteering leave for time volunteered to the program.

  1. Those with conditions of the heart, lung, liver, kidney, bladder, gastrointestinal tract (stomach/bowels etc), brain (strokes, Parkinsons etc), muscles/joints, thyroid, diabetes, cancers who are willing to attend masterclasses, which are run by a specialist in the field (10am – midday Wednesdays) and tutorials (Wednesdays and Fridays).
  2. Those who are willing (and able) to act out a medical condition following a basic script. These volunteers are usually used for assessments and exams.  Great for any budding actors!
  3. Those who are happy to be examined (both for a medical condition they may have or some other body system for student practice).

Anyone interested in finding out more can contact Shannan Lane on 9850 2825 or .
