Clinical Education building – construction starting soon

Macquarie University is building a new Clinical Education building for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences positioned between the Macquarie University Hospital and 75 Talavera Road.

With construction due to commence around mid-March, there are some necessary changes to road and pedestrian access that staff and students will soon notice. When a start date is confirmed, the contractor will begin securing the building site which will involve important changes including:

Closing (old) Innovation Road
Once the construction site is established, there will only be one connection between Herring Road and Research Park Drive. See map below:

No through pedestrian traffic from the rear of 75 Talavera Road
When the site hoarding is erected, the previous and well-used pedestrian walkway from the back of the building will be closed. Pedestrians coming from Wally’s Walk will be diverted around the site, left or right, to access 75 Talavera Road as per the map below:
