Are you Australia’s next best science communicator?

Applications are now open for FameLab 2019 – the science communication competition out to discover Australia’s leading early career researchers.

FameLab is a live science communication event where PhD students present their research in three minutes armed with only their wits and a few props.

Macquarie PhD student Vanessa Pirotta from the Department of Biological Sciences won last year’s FameLab national final and represented Australia at the international final in the UK where she was the runner-up.

Vanessa won the judges over with her presentation on her research project which investigates the use of drones to collect health information from free swimming whales.

“I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share my research on an international stage,” Vanessa told This Week at the time.
Applications for FameLab 2019 close 15 February, to enter click here.
