Answering your questions on the Student Success Strategic Framework

Questions raised at the Student Success all-staff Town Hall have been answered and the consultation period has been extended until 6 December.

On 12 November at an all-staff Town Hall, the MQ Student Success Strategic Framework was presented to staff. Vice-Chancellor Professor S. Bruce Dowton opened the event, reminding colleagues of the importance of student success and the role we all have to play in empowering our students to succeed.

Gail White (Executive Director, Student Engagement and Registrar) then discussed the Student Success Strategic Framework, its guiding principles and the different elements that make up student success. The Student Success green paper was also introduced to Town Hall attendees by Gail.

Professor Kevin Jameson (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic) rounded off the event by addressing some of the questions asked by the audience. There were 58 questions received via POLLEV during the Town Hall. The questions were grouped in themes and the responses are available in this PDF document.

The following day, the Student Success green paper was circulated to all staff for a two-week period of consultation. Thank you to all staff who have contributed so far. Given this very busy time of the year, the green paper consultation time has been extended to allow more people a chance to provide ideas and feedback. The green paper consultation period will now close on 6 December.

The best ideas to bring student success to life will be rewarded. There are four x $100 prizes and one top prize of $500 on offer for the most innovative ideas that are clearly focussed around student success. Students will be helping us choose the winners, so centre your thinking around their needs and you could be a winner.
