Volunteers needed for Lifeline book fair set up

The team behind the inaugural Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Macquarie Book Fair (3-4 November) need volunteers to help set up and pack/unpack book vans.

The book fairs are organised and run entirely by volunteers and as they are an ageing population, would appreciate some extra ‘people power’.

The two locations where they need some assistance are:
– Macquarie University (12 Wally’s Walk) on Thursday 1 November and Friday 2 November from 8.30am, and Sunday 4 November from 5pm, for approximately two-four hours.
– Hornsby depot (1/51 Leighton Place) on Thursday 1 November from 7.30am and on Monday 5 November from 8am, for approximately two-four hours.

Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury is an independent Lifeline Centre that provides a wide range of crisis support and suicide prevention services, including the national 24/7 telephone crisis line 13 11 14, face-to-face counselling services and other local community programs.

Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury is a not-for-profit charitable organisation and, to provide the services, it needs to raise 80 per cent of its income via fundraising. The Book Fairs play an important role in helping to raise these funds.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Meredith Bartlett on (02) 9498 8805 or Meredith.Bartlett@lifelineh2h.org.au.

Macquarie University supports community volunteering by providing up to two days leave for continuing full time and part time staff. For more information, click here.
