Wear It Purple BBQ and Cake Stall

Macquarie’s Ally Network is partnering with the student Queer Collective to host a BBQ and cake stall for Wear It Purple Day.

Staff are also encouraged to join in and show support for students who identify as LGBTIQ+ by wearing purple on the day. BBQ and cake will be available by gold coin donation.

Wear It Purple was founded in 2010 in response to several young people having taken their own lives following bullying and harassment and the lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity. It was established to show young people across the globe that there are people who do support and encourage them, and that they have the right to be proud of who they are.
