Fitness to Practice Procedure live from S2 2018

The new Fitness to Practice procedure has been developed for students in Practical, Clinical and Professional programs who are required to undertake placements in real workplace settings.

It fits with the Academic Progression Policy and the General Coursework Rules to provide an additional tool to manage progression and provide support to students in these programs.

These programs have specific registration, accreditation or other mandated requirements as they may lead to professional registration.

The new Schedule 3 lists those programs that will be able to apply fitness to practice requirements for students on placement. For example, fitness to practice will apply to education programs where students undertake placements in early childhood centres or schools, as well as medical, physiotherapy, psychology, audiology, speech and chiropractic programs where students may go on placements in a health setting.
