Celebrate Harmony Day with Widening Participation

The 2018 National Harmony Day theme ‘Everyone Belongs’ closely aligns with the University’s commitment to inclusiveness through a “culture of caring for the well-being of all members of the community” – Our University: A Framing of Futures; Priority 3: Aligning the nature and size of the University for the future.

This year, Widening Participation Unit is holding two events to mark the occasion on Wednesday 21 March.

Harmony Day morning tea

This event is for staff and selected external stakeholders. The morning tea will include speeches by the interim Pro Vice-Chancellor (Programs and Pathways) and Widening Participation Managers to launch the DVCA’s allocation of 2018 LEAP – Partnership Engagement Grant Scheme for internal stakeholders to develop and deliver initiatives that support the engagement and participation of students from disadvantaged, low-SES backgrounds.

Where:
Wednesday 21 March – 10-11.30am
119 Eastern Road (Ground Floor Foyer)

Harmony Day Stall

This event will capture pedestrian staff and student traffic outside MUSE, on Wally’s Walk. The stall will run for an hour and visually engage attendees with official Harmony Day items and posters on display, as well as information about the Widening Participation Unit and how they support inclusiveness.

Where:
Wednesday 21 March – 12-1.00pm
Outside MUSE, Wally’s Walk
