Congratulations to the five new Distinguished Professors announced at the Academic Staff Awards ceremony:

Distinguished Professor is a prestigious title awarded to eminent Professors of Macquarie University who are of exceptional distinction and who have made an outstanding contribution to their field or discipline and to Macquarie University. The title recognises world-class individuals with stellar records of academic achievement, including an international reputation for exceptional research and scholarship, outstanding learning and teaching achievements and professional peer recognition at national and international level.

There are now 17 staff members at Macquarie University with this prestigious title. The appointments are made following a rigorous selection process, which involves nominations from Executive Deans and assessment by the Distinguished Professor Committee convened by the Vice-Chancellor.

The further round of nominations will be announced in 2019. To find out more read Distinguished Professors.
