Information for staff and students who travel for work related purposes

The University’s Accident and Health Lines insurance provider has now changed from Chubb to AIG effective from Wednesday 1 November 2017.

Why the change
Insurance provider AIG offered the University the most competitive renewal premium, cover terms, and claims handling system.

Important information for impacted staff

  • While our insurance provider is changing, there is no change to our emergency assistance provider: International SOS
  • The cover to you as an endorsed MQ traveller is the same.
  • If you have purchased leisure travel insurance from Chubb’s leisure travel insurance portal, it remains valid. The new leisure travel insurance portal will be announced soon.
  • All the travel confirmation received by Chubb for upcoming trips will be automatically covered by AIG.
  • Campus and STA travel will update your itinerary with the new AIG travel insurance policy number.
  • The claims process is unchanged. If you have a loss, contact the insurance office.
  • If you need assistance or pre-travel advice, continue to contact us by phone or email traveladvice@mq.edu.au.
