Preparing for the removal of the Campus Hub

Recently, we told you about a Development Application to remove C9A and C10A as part of our Campus Development Plan. These works will allow the University to make room for an innovative new teaching and learning building with food and beverage offerings, as well as the first two of five student housing buildings to create a campus which is better suited for Macquarie’s growth.

To prepare, in the coming weeks you’ll begin to see changes to the services offered in the Hub.  Here is a list of some upcoming changes:

  • Pie Face closing Thursday 31 August
  • Reuben & Earl Sandwiches closing Friday 15 September
  • MacShop closing Friday 22 September
  • Co-Op is relocating to the new MUSE space on level three (early October 2017) and will include a limited supply of stationery.

An exciting new mix of contemporary food, beverage, event and social options will be coming soon as part of the Campus Common, scheduled to open in Session 2. We’ll share information about specific tenants in the coming weeks and will continue to evaluate the offerings available on campus as the Campus Development Plan works develop. Staff and students can also continue to frequent the popular Macquarie Centre, located within walking distance to the University and offering many stores and services.

  1. Is the Campus comon on track , or will it open on 6th of November or earlier , cant find any info . We would like to do a demonstation for Tae Kwon Do club in Atrium this week or next week ??

    1. Hi D. I. V., thank you for your question. There will not be any PO Boxes in the new Campus Common. The nearest AusPost location is at Macquarie Centre, and mailboxes for sending items can be found at the bus terminal on Herring Road.

    1. Thank you for your question, Matt. We are looking to relocate the ATMs to open at the same time as the Campus Common.
