This season, why not consider giving the gift of giving by volunteering or donating items for North Ryde Community Aid (NCRA)’s Christmas Cheer hampers?

NCRA is a not-for-profit organisation reliant on government funding and community generosity to deliver a range of services and assistance to the socially and financially disadvantaged in our community. There are many benefits to volunteering, including the feeling of giving back to the community, expanding networks and building on experience and knowledge.

Continuing professional staff members may access two days of volunteering leave per calendar year (pro-rata for part-time) to actively contribute to community-based non-profit organisations, charitable groups and groups in need of assistance. The offering gives staff the opportunity to ‘give back’ to the community in a way that is meaningful for them, whether it be working with the environment, aged care, animals, children or disadvantaged groups.

There are many ways you can get involved with the NCRA, including donating food and gift items and packing and delivering hampers. Food and gift item donations can be dropped at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor’s Reception on Level 2 of The Chancellery, 19 Eastern Road (E11A) by Friday 9 December. For more information see here.

So what are you waiting for? Do something you love and give back to your community!
