(Main image). Staff and students made full use of last Friday’s afternoon sunshine, gathering for RE:Conception’s lakeside event. After enjoying a relaxed line-up of acoustic musical acts, food trucks and a boutique bar, the evening wrapped up with a vibrant fireworks finale.


MQ Health launched

Last Monday 12 September saw the official launch of MQ Health by the Vice-Chancellor.  Staff took the opportunity to connect with Macquarie’s healthcare experts as well as exploring clinical facilities including operating theatres and Australia’s first gamma knife.

Brightest international students celebrated

As part of Macquarie’s commitment to attracting high quality international students to the University, Macquarie International hosted a reception last Monday for our newest international scholarship students, as well as students returning from student exchange and international internship programs.

Guest speakers from Linkedin and Think Learn Succeed provided insights to the attendees on how to raise their employability profile, as part of the University’s commitment to supporting graduate employability.


Staff Café serves up delicious spring offerings

If you like the the sound of Cuban pork with Black bean rice or Goan fish curry with steamed rice, head down to the Staff Café  which now stocks the popular I Love Food $8 take home meals range (note: I Love Food meals will not be available between 20 – 30 September due to graduation ceremonies). The café will also be launching its new spring menu on 27 September.

Chef Manager Housien Koussan also notes that following his sell-out sessions for his recent scone classes, he hopes to run additional classes for the 30+ staff who have signed up for the waiting list.


Lendlease lends a hand to Macquarie childcare

William Ng, a parent from Macquarie’s Gumnut Cottage childcare centre, arranged for a team from LendLease to spend a day refreshing the centre’s playground on the weekend.
